Ji Young Jeon is an internationally acclaimed dramatic coloratura soprano whose career has spanned more than three decades. Renowned for her vocal agility, expressive artistry, and commanding stage presence, she has performed leading operatic roles throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States...
Her repertoire spans many of opera's most celebrated heroines, including Mozart's Queen of the Night, Verdi's Violetta, Donizetti's Lucia, Puccini's Musetta, Mimì, and Liu, Strauss's Sophie, and Offenbach's Olympia. Equally at home in lyric and dramatic repertoire, she is admired for bringing both technical brilliance and emotional authenticity to every performance.
Ji Young has performed with internationally respected opera companies and concert organizations including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatsheater Hannover, Gasteig Munich, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Theater Bern, Prague Castle, and the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul.
Her concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Strauss orchestral works, gala concerts, and recital performances, reflecting a versatile career that bridges opera, orchestral performance, and chamber music.
Committed to artistic excellence throughout her career, Ji Young completed advanced vocal studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München after earning her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Yonsei University. She has also participated in the renowned Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg, studying with many of the world's most respected vocal pedagogues and artists.
Fluent in Korean, German, Italian, and English, Ji Young continues to perform internationally while inspiring audiences through expressive storytelling, technical mastery, and a lifelong dedication to the art of opera.a
